The OSG 5741000 is a 4-flute square end mill designed for general-purpose milling in a wide range of ferrous and non-ferrous materials. Built from 3% vanadium high speed steel (VHSS), it delivers solid wear resistance and toughness at an economical price point compared to carbide tooling. The 13/32-inch cutting diameter and 1-inch length of cut (LOC) make it well suited to slotting, peripheral milling, and light profiling operations. A 30-degree helix angle promotes smooth chip evacuation and stable cutting action. The center-cutting geometry allows plunge entry directly into the workpiece without a pre-drilled hole.

This end mill is used in manual bridgeport-style mills and CNC machining centers across job shops, maintenance departments, and tool rooms. It is appropriate for milling mild steel, alloy steel, cast iron, aluminum, and similar materials at moderate cutting speeds.
