The OSG 570025011 is a solid carbide screw machine length drill bit designed for high-performance drilling in ferrous materials. Built to Series 5700 specifications, it features a 0.25 inch (1/4 inch, Letter E, 6.35 mm) diameter with a 180-degree flat drill point, making it well suited for flat-bottomed holes and precision spot drilling. The two-flute spiral design with a web-thinned, tapered web configuration reduces thrust and improves chip evacuation. At 70 mm overall length with a 30 mm flute length, this short-length geometry provides rigidity for high-feed applications. The OSG 570025011 is intended for use in steel, alloy steel, and cast iron workpieces. The screw machine length profile — shorter than jobber length — delivers added stiffness in CNC machining centers, drill presses, and manual machine work where deflection must be minimized. The 2xD flute-to-diameter ratio and right-hand cut geometry suit it for through-hole and blind-hole drilling in production and maintenance environments alike. It ships as a single-piece unit.
