The OSG 5637000 is a miniature cobalt square end mill designed for precision milling in demanding machining environments. Built from M42 cobalt high-speed steel, this double-end tool features a 1/32 inch (0.0313 inch) mill diameter and a 3/32 inch (0.0938 inch) length of cut. The bright, uncoated finish and 30-degree right-hand helix promote efficient chip evacuation in tight geometries. With two flutes and centercutting capability, it handles slotting, profiling, and plunge cuts across a wide range of workpiece materials. Machinists and tool-and-die professionals working with small-feature components rely on this Series 563 tool for repeatable, accurate results at micro-scale dimensions.
The OSG 5637000 is suited for milling steel, stainless steel, cast iron, high-temperature alloys, aluminum and non-ferrous metals, and hardened materials. Its double-end configuration extends tool life by providing a second cutting edge when the first is worn. The 3/16 inch shank diameter and 2-1/4 inch overall length make it compatible with standard collets and end mill holders used in CNC machining centers and manual mills handling fine-detail work such as die cavities, slots, and small pockets.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or direct-use miniature end mill for CNC machining centers and manual milling machines equipped with 3/16 inch collets or end mill holders accepting a 3/16 inch shank diameter.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist following shop safety protocols. Ensure the spindle is fully stopped and the machine is powered down before changing tooling. Secure the 3/16 inch shank firmly in a properly sized collet or end mill holder to the torque specifications called out in the machine tool manufacturer documentation. At micro diameters, runout control is critical — inspect the holder and collet for wear before use.
