The OSG 5435100 is a double-end cobalt square end mill designed for milling operations in ferrous and high-temperature alloy materials. Built from M42 cobalt high-speed steel, it delivers heat resistance and edge retention under demanding cutting conditions. The tool features a 1-inch mill diameter, a 1-7/8-inch length of cut, and a 4-flute spiral configuration with a 30-degree helix angle for efficient chip evacuation and surface finish quality. At 6-3/8 inches overall length with a 1-inch shank diameter, it fits standard milling machine and machining center collet and endmill holder setups. The bright, uncoated finish suits applications where coating interaction with workpiece material is a concern.
This end mill is suited for use in vertical and horizontal milling machines and CNC machining centers performing slotting, profiling, and peripheral milling operations. The double-end design provides two usable cutting ends, reducing tooling cost per edge. The center-cutting geometry allows plunge entry into the workpiece. Right-hand cutting and right-hand flute direction conform to conventional milling machine setups. It is a regular-length tool in the OSG Series 543 line, appropriate for general-purpose shop and production environments where cobalt tooling is specified.
Designed for use in standard milling machines and CNC machining centers accepting a 1-inch shank diameter end mill holder or collet chuck. Part of the OSG Series 543 cobalt end mill line.
Installation and tool changes should be performed by a qualified machinist with the spindle fully stopped and machine power locked out. Ensure the collet or end mill holder is clean and free of debris before seating the shank. Verify runout with an indicator after clamping before beginning the cut. Follow the machine manufacturer torque specifications for drawbar or collet nut tightening.
