The OSG 5432100 is a cobalt square end mill engineered for general-purpose milling operations in ferrous and non-ferrous materials. Built to Series 543 standards, it features a 0.625-inch cutting diameter, a 1.375-inch length of cut, and a 5.0-inch overall length. The four-flute, 30-degree helix spiral design promotes efficient chip evacuation and smooth cutting action. The cobalt M42 substrate provides improved heat and wear resistance compared to standard high-speed steel, making this end mill well-suited for tougher alloys and harder workpiece materials. It is double-end geometry, centercutting, and arrives uncoated. Licensed machinists and CNC operators are the primary users.
This end mill is designed for use on vertical machining centers, knee mills, and CNC milling equipment. The 0.625-inch shank diameter mates with standard ER collets, end mill holders, and Weldon-style tool holders of the same bore. The regular-length profile and 1.375-inch length of cut make it appropriate for shoulder milling, slotting, and profiling in production and job-shop environments. The double-end configuration extends tool life by offering a second usable cutting end once the first is worn.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or direct fitment for applications requiring a 0.625-inch diameter, 4-flute cobalt square end mill with a 0.625-inch shank in standard end mill holders and collet chucks.
Installation and tool changes should be performed by a qualified machinist with the spindle fully stopped and machine power isolated per shop safety procedures. Ensure the shank is fully seated in the tool holder to the recommended gauge line and that the collet or set screw is torqued to the holder manufacturer specification. Inspect the cutting edges for chips or damage before each use. Do not exceed the recommended speeds and feeds for the workpiece material and depth of cut.
