The OSG 5413111 is a single-end square end mill designed for precision milling operations in ferrous and high-temperature alloy materials. Built from M42 cobalt high-speed steel and finished with a TiAlN (titanium aluminum nitride) coating, this tool delivers heat resistance and extended tool life in demanding cutting environments. The 4-flute spiral geometry with a 30-degree helix angle promotes efficient chip evacuation while maintaining surface finish quality. At 0.75 inches in diameter with a 1.625-inch length of cut, it handles slotting, profiling, and peripheral milling tasks. Installed by machinists and tool-and-die professionals on CNC mills and manual knee mills.
The OSG 5413111 belongs to OSG Series 541 and is configured for right-hand cut and right-hand flute direction. The centercutting design allows plunge entry directly into the workpiece without a pre-drilled hole, expanding its utility in pocket milling and ramping operations. The 0.75-inch shank diameter provides a secure, concentric grip in standard ER or end mill holders. This tool is suited for use in job shops, production machining environments, and tool rooms working with alloy steels, stainless steels, and similar materials where thermal loading is a concern.
Designed as an OEM-style milling tool within the OSG Series 541 lineup, suitable for use in any standard 0.75-inch end mill holder, ER collet, or Weldon-flat holder sized for 0.75-inch shank tooling on vertical and horizontal milling machines.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist. Ensure the machine spindle is fully powered down and locked out before changing tooling. Seat the shank to the full recommended insertion depth in the holder and torque set screws or collet nuts per the holder manufacturer's specifications. Verify runout with a dial indicator before beginning cuts, as excessive runout accelerates wear on cobalt and coated tooling.
