The OSG 5329600 is a cobalt square end mill engineered for general-purpose milling in ferrous and non-ferrous metals. Built from M42 cobalt high-speed steel, it delivers hardness and heat resistance that hold up under aggressive cutting conditions without a coating. The cutter measures 7/16 inch in diameter with a 1 inch length of cut, a 1/2 inch shank diameter, and an overall length of 4-1/8 inches. The 30-degree spiral helix and 3-flute geometry promote smooth chip evacuation and stable tool engagement. This is a double-end design, giving machinists two usable cutting ends per tool.
This end mill is suited for milling operations on manual knee mills, CNC machining centers, and toolroom setups handling steel, stainless, cast iron, and similar materials. The centercutting geometry allows direct plunge entry, making it practical for slotting, profiling, and pocket milling without a pre-drilled entry point. The Series 532 designation places it in OSG standard regular-length tooling. It is typically installed and changed by machinists, tool-and-die makers, and CNC operators working in production and job shop environments.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or direct-use tooling for milling applications requiring a 1/2 inch straight shank collet or end mill holder and a regular-length 7/16 inch square end mill profile.
Installation is performed by machinists using an appropriate collet chuck or end mill holder rated for a 1/2 inch shank diameter. Verify spindle and workholding are fully secured and the machine is at a complete stop before changing tooling. Inspect both cutting ends for wear or chipping before use. Follow machine manufacturer runout and torque specifications for the holder being used.
