The OSG 5320500 is a cobalt square end mill designed for milling, slotting, and profiling operations on a wide range of workpiece materials. Built from M42 cobalt high-speed steel, this double-end tool delivers strong heat and wear resistance in demanding cutting conditions. It features a 3/8 inch cutting diameter, a 3/4 inch length of cut, and a 3/8 inch shank diameter, with an overall length of 3-1/2 inches. The 30-degree spiral flute geometry promotes efficient chip evacuation, and the centercutting design allows plunge entry directly into the workpiece. Machinists and tool-and-die professionals install this end mill in manual mills and CNC machining centers.
The OSG 5320500 is suited for use in general machining environments including job shops, tool rooms, and production facilities. Its uncoated M42 cobalt construction makes it a practical choice for cutting ferrous and non-ferrous metals where a coated carbide tool may not be required or cost-justified. The double-end configuration extends usable tool life by providing two cutting ends per shank. This Series 532 end mill is sold individually and is appropriate for operators running standard vertical milling setups or CNC knee mills.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or direct-fit end mill for use in standard 3/8 inch collet chucks, end mill holders, or matching Weldon-style holders on vertical milling machines and CNC machining centers.
Installation is performed by qualified machinists or tool setup personnel. Ensure the machine spindle is fully powered down and locked out before changing tooling. Secure the shank firmly in a properly sized collet or end mill holder to the tool holder manufacturer's specified clamping procedure. Verify runout with a dial indicator before beginning a cut, and confirm spindle speed and feed rate are appropriate for the workpiece material and depth of cut.
