The OSG 5320200 is a cobalt square end mill designed for milling operations in ferrous and difficult-to-machine materials. Built to Series 532 specifications, it features a 3/16 inch cutting diameter, a 1/2 inch length of cut, and a 30-degree helix angle with a spiral flute geometry. The double-end configuration provides two usable cutting ends, extending tool life between changes. With a right-hand cut and right-hand flute direction, it is centercutting, allowing plunge entry as well as standard peripheral and slot milling. Machinists and tool-room operators in production shops and maintenance environments install this end mill for precision material removal on ferrous alloys, stainless, and high-temperature materials where high-speed steel tooling is insufficient.
The OSG 5320200 suits applications in CNC machining centers, manual knee mills, and toolroom equipment where a compact 3/16 inch diameter is required for slot milling, profiling, and step cutting. The 3/8 inch shank diameter fits standard ER collet chucks and end mill holders common across light-duty and mid-range spindles. The regular-length body and 3-1/4 inch overall length make it appropriate for close-quarters cuts with limited Z-axis clearance. It is well suited for ferrous materials, stainless steel grades, and alloys where cobalt M42 substrate provides the heat resistance and edge retention that standard M2 HSS cannot deliver.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or direct selection for applications requiring a 3/16 inch cobalt square end mill with a 3/8 inch shank in OSG Series 532 tooling programs.
This end mill is installed by machinists and tool-room technicians in CNC or manual milling machines. Secure the 3/8 inch shank in a properly sized collet or end mill holder and torque to the spindle manufacturer's specification before running. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and locked out before changing tooling. Do not exceed the tool's rated length of cut range of 0.5 to 0.6 inches of axial engagement to avoid deflection or premature edge failure.
