The OSG 521009312 is a solid carbide jobber-length drill bit designed for high-performance drilling in demanding industrial and machining applications. It features a 3/32 inch (2.38 mm) diameter, a 140-degree split-point geometry, and a WXL coating for extended tool life and reduced heat buildup. The straight-cylindrical shank seats securely in standard drill chucks and collets. With a 2-flute right-hand spiral design and an overall length of approximately 2.76 inches (70 mm), this bit delivers accurate, repeatable holes in a compact jobber-length format. Coolant-through capability supports high-speed operations where chip evacuation and thermal management are critical.
This drill bit is built for ferrous metals, stainless steels, cast iron, and high-temp alloys, consistent with ISO material codes P, M, K, and S. It is suited for CNC machining centers, drill presses, and manual machine tool setups in metal fabrication shops, aerospace component manufacturing, and precision tooling environments. The 5xD flute-to-diameter ratio makes it appropriate for moderate-depth holes without dedicated deep-hole tooling. Installation and tool changes should be performed with the machine fully powered down and the spindle locked. Ensure the shank is fully seated and the collet or chuck is torqued to the toolholder manufacturer's specification before running the spindle. Coolant-through setups should be verified for adequate pressure and flow before engaging the workpiece. Inspect the cutting edge and coating condition before each use — carbide tips are brittle and should not be used if chipping is observed.
