The OSG 5203105 is a cobalt square end mill designed for milling operations in ferrous and high-temperature alloy materials. Built from M42 cobalt high-speed steel, this end mill delivers heat resistance and edge retention beyond standard HSS tooling. It features a TiN (titanium nitride) coating to further extend tool life and reduce friction during cutting. The 0.75 inch cutting diameter, 30-degree spiral helix, and right-hand cut with right-hand flute geometry make it a reliable choice for general-purpose milling, slotting, and profiling tasks on manual mills and CNC machining centers. It belongs to OSG Series 520 and is sold as a single unit.
This end mill is suited for production and job-shop environments where cobalt tooling is specified for harder workpiece materials or applications that generate elevated cutting temperatures. The centercutting design allows plunge entry directly into the workpiece, expanding its usefulness for pocket milling and ramp entry operations. Machinists working in tool and die, mold making, and general fabrication shops will find this a practical stock item. It is a regular-length geometry, which keeps deflection low during standard-depth cuts.
Designed as an OEM-specification cobalt square end mill suitable for use in any standard 0.75 inch end mill holder, collet chuck, or milling arbor accepting a 0.75 inch straight shank. Series 520 regular-length geometry.
Installation and tool changes must be performed with the machine spindle fully stopped and the machine locked out per standard machining safety practice. Secure the shank fully within the holder to the recommended engagement depth before tightening. Verify runout with a dial indicator after clamping to minimize premature edge wear. Feed rate, spindle speed, and depth of cut should be selected based on workpiece material hardness and the machinist's reference tables for cobalt end mills.
