The OSG 482-375011 is a solid carbide square end mill designed for precision milling in metalworking and machining applications. Built on the Series 482 platform, it features a 3/8 inch cutting diameter, a 1-3/4 inch length of cut, and a 4 inch overall length. The TiAlN coating provides heat resistance and extended tool life in ferrous and hardened materials. A 30-degree helix angle promotes smooth chip evacuation, while the two-flute configuration balances rigidity with clearance. Centercutting geometry allows plunge entry. This end mill is run by machinists and CNC operators working with lathes, mills, and machining centers in tool rooms, production shops, and job shops.
The OSG 482-375011 is suited for slotting, profiling, and plunge-cutting operations in materials including steel, stainless steel, cast iron, and similar ferrous alloys. Its extra-long classification makes it appropriate for reaching into deep pockets or step features where standard-length tooling cannot access. The 3/8 inch shank diameter fits standard ER collets, end mill holders, and shrink-fit toolholders commonly used in CNC machining centers. Right-hand cut and right-hand spiral flute geometry is the industry-standard orientation for most vertical and horizontal milling setups.
Designed for use in standard 3/8 inch end mill holders, ER collets, and shrink-fit toolholders on CNC vertical machining centers, horizontal machining centers, and manual knee mills. Part of the OSG Series 482 line.
Installation is performed by machinists or CNC operators. Ensure the machine spindle is fully powered down and locked out before loading or removing tooling. Confirm holder bore cleanliness and proper runout before tightening. Follow the toolholder manufacturer torque and clamping procedure for the holder type in use. Verify spindle speed and feed rate parameters against the material being cut before engaging the tool.
