The OSG 464-437508 is a solid carbide square end mill designed for high-performance milling in demanding machining environments. Part of OSG's Series 464, this end mill features a 7/16 inch (0.4375 inch) mill diameter, a 2 inch length of cut, and a 4 inch overall length. The TiCN (Titanium Carbonitride) finish improves surface hardness and wear resistance compared to uncoated carbide tools. Micrograin carbide construction provides a fine grain structure that supports sharp cutting edges and extended tool life. This is a right-hand cut, right-hand flute, centercutting tool, meaning it can be used for plunge entry as well as side and slot milling. Machinists and CNC operators in job shops, production facilities, and toolrooms are the primary users of this tool.
This end mill is suited for milling ferrous and non-ferrous metals where a TiCN coating provides an advantage in abrasion resistance. The long-length classification with a 2 inch length of cut supports applications that require reaching into deeper pockets or slots where a standard-length end mill would fall short. The 30-degree helix angle promotes smooth chip evacuation and reduces cutting forces during peripheral and slot milling operations.
