The OSG 464-1875 is a solid carbide square end mill designed for precision milling operations in metalworking and machining applications. It features a 3/16 inch (0.1875 inch) mill diameter with a matching 3/16 inch shank diameter, a 3/4 inch length of cut, and a 2-1/4 inch overall length. Built from micrograin solid carbide, this end mill delivers consistent edge integrity at small diameters. The 4-flute geometry with a 30-degree helix angle promotes efficient chip evacuation and smooth surface finishes on a range of workpiece materials. The uncoated finish makes it straightforward to inspect for wear during tool life monitoring.
This end mill is suited for slot milling, profiling, and peripheral milling in ferrous and non-ferrous materials. Its long-length classification and centercutting capability allow it to plunge directly into the workpiece and reach into deeper features without a pre-drilled entry point. The right-hand cut and right-hand spiral flute configuration match standard spindle rotation on vertical machining centers and CNC mills. Machinists working on small-feature aerospace, mold, or general precision components will find the 3/16 inch diameter appropriate for tight-tolerance slots and pockets.
Designed as a direct-fit tooling option for standard 3/16 inch collet or end mill holders on vertical machining centers, CNC mills, and manual knee mills; part of the OSG Series 464 long-length square end mill line.
Installation is performed by a machinist or CNC setup technician. Confirm the spindle is fully stopped and locked out before seating or removing the tool. Use a properly sized collet or end mill holder rated for the 3/16 inch shank diameter and torque the retention mechanism per the holder manufacturer specification. Verify runout with a dial indicator after mounting before commencing a cut, as excessive runout accelerates wear at small diameters.
