The OSG 464-1875-BN11 is a solid carbide ball end mill designed for precision milling operations across a wide range of metalworking applications. With a 0.1875 inch mill diameter, four helical flutes, and a TiAlN (titanium aluminum nitride) PVD coating, this tool delivers reliable material removal in both roughing and finishing passes. The 30-degree helix angle promotes efficient chip evacuation and reduces cutting forces. The straight-cylindrical shank and single-end configuration make it compatible with standard collet and tool holder setups commonly found in CNC machining centers and manual mills. Machinists and toolroom professionals working in job shops, production environments, or maintenance machining will find this tool suited to demanding cutting conditions.
This end mill is designed for use on a broad range of secondary workpiece materials including steel, stainless steel, cast iron, non-ferrous metals, and hard materials. The TiAlN coating provides elevated heat resistance, making it well suited for dry or semi-dry machining where heat buildup at the cutting edge is a concern. The long-length designation and 0.75 inch reach length allow access to features that require additional clearance beyond standard-length tooling. It carries a right-hand cutting and right-hand flute direction, which is the standard configuration for conventional CNC milling operations.
Designed for use with steel, stainless steel, cast iron, non-ferrous metals, and hard materials (ISO material codes P, M, K, N, H). Part of the OSG Series 464BN standard carbide end mill lineup.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC setup technician. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and locked out before inserting or removing the tool from any holder. Verify collet bore size matches the 0.1875 inch shank diameter before tightening. Follow machine tool manufacturer torque specifications for collet nuts and tool holders, and confirm runout with a dial indicator before beginning a production cut.
