The OSG 464-125008 is a solid carbide square end mill designed for precision milling operations in metal and hard material applications. Part of the OSG Series 464, it features a 0.125 inch mill diameter, a 0.750 inch length of cut, and a 2.25 inch overall length with a 0.125 inch shank diameter. The 4-flute geometry with a 30-degree spiral helix and TiCN coating delivers efficient chip evacuation and extended tool life in demanding cuts. It is centercutting capable, allowing plunge entry, and is manufactured from micrograin solid carbide for rigidity and wear resistance. This end mill is sold individually and is suited for use in CNC machining centers and manual milling setups.
The OSG 464-125008 is built for long-reach applications where standard-length end mills cannot access deep slots, pockets, or stepped features. It is appropriate for milling steel, stainless steel, cast iron, and similar ferrous materials in both production and toolroom environments. The right-hand cut and right-hand flute configuration is the standard orientation for conventional and climb milling on vertical machining centers. The long series length type provides added reach without sacrificing the rigidity that micrograin carbide construction provides.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or direct application end mill for standard 1/8 inch collet or tool holder systems used in CNC machining centers and conventional milling machines requiring a long-series 4-flute square end mill.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC setup technician. Secure the shank in a properly sized collet or end mill holder, ensuring the shank diameter tolerance of +0.00000/-0.0005 inches is accounted for when selecting the tool holder. Verify spindle speed and feed rate are appropriate for the workpiece material and cutting diameter before engaging the cut. Inspect the cutting edges and TiCN coating for chips or wear before each use.
