The OSG 457106211 is a solid carbide corner radius end mill designed for high-performance milling in demanding metalworking applications. Built to Series 4571 specifications, it features a 6 mm cutting diameter, a 1 mm corner radius, and four right-hand helical flutes with a 45-degree helix angle. The WXS physical vapor deposition (PVD) coating provides thermal resistance and wear protection, extending tool life in abrasive and hard materials. A 6 mm straight-cylindrical shank mates directly to standard toolholders. The centercutting geometry allows plunge entry, and the extended-reach neck supports access to deeper features without tool changes. Licensed machinists and CNC operators working in production or job-shop environments are the primary users of this tool.
This end mill is engineered for roughing and finishing operations on steel, stainless steel, cast iron, superalloys, titanium, and hard materials. The 9 mm length of cut and 30 mm reach length suit it for shoulder milling, profiling, slotting, and contour work where corner edge integrity is critical. The micrograin carbide substrate and high-helix flute design maintain chip evacuation and edge stability across a range of cutting parameters. It is well suited for use on CNC machining centers running toolpaths that require consistent corner geometry on part features.
Designed for use with standard toolholders accepting a 6 mm straight-cylindrical shank. Suitable for steel, stainless steel, cast iron, superalloys, titanium, and hard materials as designated by material codes P, M, K, S, and H.
Installation and operation should be performed by a qualified CNC machinist or toolroom technician. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and the controller is in a safe state before loading or unloading the tool. Seat the shank fully into the toolholder collet and torque the retention nut to the toolholder manufacturer specification. Verify runout with a dial indicator before initiating a cutting program, as excessive runout will accelerate edge wear on carbide tooling.
