The OSG 457106011 is a 4-flute solid carbide corner radius end mill designed for high-performance milling in demanding material applications. Built on the Series 4571 platform, it features a 6 mm cutting diameter, a 0.50 mm corner radius, and a 9 mm length of cut. The WXS physical vapor deposition (PVD) coating improves wear resistance and heat resistance across extended run times. With a 45-degree high helix and right-hand cutting direction, this end mill is suited for both roughing and finishing operations. It is installed by machinists and CNC operators working in metalworking, tool-and-die, and precision machining environments.
This end mill is engineered for use in steel, stainless steel, cast iron, superalloys, titanium, and hard materials. The centercutting design allows plunge entry, and the extended reach configuration with an 18 mm reach length and 5.80 mm neck diameter enables access to deeper features without sacrificing rigidity. It mounts to standard straight-shank toolholders with a 6 mm shank diameter and shank tolerance h6. The single-end geometry and normal pitch flute spacing make it appropriate for a wide range of milling strategies on CNC machining centers and manual mills.
Compatible with standard straight-shank cylindrical toolholders accepting a 6 mm shank. Designed for use on CNC machining centers and milling machines processing steel, stainless steel, cast iron, superalloys, titanium, and hard materials (ISO material codes P, M, K, S, H).
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC operator. Ensure the toolholder bore is clean and free of debris before seating the shank, and confirm runout with a dial indicator before cutting. Follow machine tool manufacturer guidelines for collet torque and stick-out length. Review applicable shop safety procedures and machine guarding requirements before spindle engagement.
