The OSG 457105011 is a solid carbide corner radius end mill designed for high-performance milling in demanding machining environments. With a 5 mm cutting diameter, 0.2 mm corner radius, and 4 helical flutes at a 45-degree high helix angle, this tool delivers both roughing and finishing capability in a single pass. The WXS PVD coating improves wear resistance and heat dissipation, extending tool life when cutting hard or abrasive materials. The extended-reach neck design, with a 4.80 mm neck diameter and 15 mm reach length, provides clearance in deep-pocket and stepped-feature applications. Licensed machinists and CNC operators working in precision job shops and production environments are the primary users of this tool.
This end mill is built for cutting steel, stainless steel, cast iron, superalloys, titanium, and hard materials. The Series 4571 geometry is suited for right-hand cutting with normal pitch fluting and a straight cylindrical shank. The 6 mm shank diameter is compatible with standard collet-style toolholders. The 8 mm length of cut and 80 mm overall length make it well-matched to typical vertical machining center setups handling small-diameter profiling, slotting, and contouring work.
Designed for use with collet-style toolholders accepting a 6 mm straight cylindrical shank. Suitable for machining steel, stainless steel, cast iron, superalloys, titanium, and hard materials in CNC milling applications.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC setup technician. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and locked out before inserting or removing the tool from the toolholder. Seat the shank to the recommended gauge-line depth in the collet and torque the collet nut per the toolholder manufacturer specification. Confirm runout with a dial indicator before initiating a cut, as excessive runout accelerates edge wear and reduces corner radius accuracy.
