The OSG 457104311 is a solid carbide corner radius end mill engineered for high-performance material removal in demanding machining environments. Built on the Series 4571 platform, it features a 4 mm cutting diameter, a 0.5 mm corner radius, and four right-hand helical flutes at a 45-degree helix angle. The WXS PVD coating provides enhanced wear resistance and heat dissipation, making this tool suitable for both roughing and finishing operations. Micrograin carbide construction supports rigidity and edge retention at elevated cutting speeds. The extended-reach design with a 3.80 mm neck diameter and 20 mm reach length allows access in deeper or restricted-clearance setups.
This end mill is designed for use in CNC machining centers and compatible toolholders across a range of workpiece materials including steel, stainless steel, cast iron, superalloys, titanium, and hard materials. The centercutting geometry allows plunge entry, adding versatility for slotting, profiling, and pocket milling operations. The straight-cylindrical 6 mm shank with h6 tolerance ensures secure seating in standard collet and hydraulic toolholders. This tool is appropriate for production shops, tool rooms, and precision job shops working in ISO material groups P, M, K, S, and H.
Compatible with standard toolholders accepting a 6 mm straight-cylindrical shank (h6 tolerance). Suitable for machining steel, stainless steel, cast iron, superalloys, titanium, and hard materials corresponding to ISO material codes P, M, K, S, and H.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC setup technician. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and the toolholder is clean and free of debris before inserting the shank. Verify shank engagement depth meets the toolholder manufacturer minimum insertion requirement. Confirm runout at the cutting diameter after tool clamping before initiating a cut.
