The OSG 457104011 is a solid carbide corner radius end mill designed for high-performance metal removal in demanding machining applications. It features a 4 mm cutting diameter, a 0.2 mm corner radius, and four right-hand helical flutes with a high helix angle of 45 degrees. The WXS PVD coating improves wear resistance and heat tolerance, extending tool life when cutting hard and abrasive workpiece materials. The 6 mm straight-cylindrical shank mounts directly in a standard toolholder. This tool is suited for machinists and CNC operators running milling operations on ferrous metals and high-strength alloys where edge protection and finish quality are both required.
This end mill is built for milling steel, stainless steel, cast iron, superalloys, titanium, and hard materials. The corner radius geometry reduces edge chipping and stress concentration at the cutting corner, making it a practical choice for both roughing and finishing passes. The extended reach design, with a 12 mm reach length and a reduced neck diameter of 3.8 mm, allows access to deeper features or stepped profiles without interference. It is single-end and center-cutting, supporting both plunge and peripheral milling operations. This is a Series 4571 tool from OSG, optimized for use in CNC machining centers.
Designed for use with standard toolholders accepting a 6 mm straight-cylindrical shank. Suitable for machining steel, stainless steel, cast iron, superalloys, titanium, and hard materials. Part of OSG Series 4571.
Installation is performed by a machinist or CNC setup technician. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and the tool change is performed according to the machine tool manufacturer guidelines before mounting or removing the end mill. Confirm the toolholder bore and collet are clean and within tolerance before seating the 6 mm shank. Verify runout with a dial indicator after clamping to maintain diameter tolerance within the specified 0.00 to -0.02 mm range.
