The OSG 457006011 is a solid carbide corner radius end mill designed for precision milling in demanding metalworking applications. It features a 6 mm cutting diameter, a 1.5 mm corner radius, and 4 right-hand flutes with a 2.5 mm length of cut. The tool is finished with OSG WXS coating for improved wear resistance and heat management at the cutting edge. With a 90 mm overall length and a straight cylindrical shank, it fits standard toolholders used in CNC machining centers. Machinists and toolroom operators use this end mill for profiling, contouring, and finishing passes where a radiused corner is required to reduce stress concentration in milled pockets and slots.
This end mill is suited for use in milling operations on ferrous and non-ferrous materials where a controlled corner radius and extended reach are needed. The extended reach configuration, combined with a 12 mm reach length and a reduced 5.40 mm neck diameter, allows access to deeper features without sacrificing rigidity. The Series 4570 design targets applications in aerospace, die and mold, and general precision machining where surface finish and dimensional accuracy are critical. It is a single-end, centercutting tool capable of plunge entry as well as peripheral cuts.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement and standard tooling option for CNC machining centers and manual mills accepting a 6 mm straight cylindrical shank.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist familiar with CNC toolholding systems. Ensure the spindle is fully stopped and the machine is in a safe state before changing tooling. Seat the shank fully in the collet or toolholder to the recommended grip depth and torque the retention mechanism to the toolholder specification. Verify runout with a dial indicator before initiating a cut, as excessive runout will accelerate edge wear and compromise dimensional accuracy.
