The OSG 457003011 is a solid carbide corner radius end mill engineered for precise milling operations in demanding machining environments. Built on the OSG Series 4570 platform, it features a 3 mm cutting diameter, a 0.75 mm corner radius, and four right-hand flutes with a straight flute geometry. The WXS coating improves wear resistance and heat dissipation, extending tool life in hardened and abrasive workpiece materials. With a micrograin carbide grade and centercutting capability, this tool handles both plunging and lateral cutting moves. It is a single-end tool designed for CNC machining centers and high-precision manual mills where corner geometry control is critical.
This end mill is suited for finish milling, slot milling, and profiling operations in materials such as hardened steels, stainless steels, and alloys where a controlled corner radius is required to reduce stress concentration at part features. The extended reach design, with a 9 mm reach length and 2.70 mm neck diameter, allows access to deeper pockets and recessed features without tool body interference. Typical users include tool and die makers, mold machinists, and CNC operators working in precision metalworking shops. The 6 mm straight-cylindrical shank fits standard ER collet chucks and milling holders commonly found on small to mid-size machining centers.
Designed as an OEM-style solid carbide corner radius end mill in the OSG Series 4570 line, compatible with standard ER collet chucks and milling tool holders accepting a 6 mm straight-cylindrical shank.
Installation and tool changes should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC setup technician with the machine spindle fully stopped and the control in an emergency-stopped or locked-out state. Seat the 6 mm shank fully into the collet chuck and torque the collet nut to the tool holder manufacturer specification. Inspect the corner radius and cutting edges for chipping before each use, as micrograin carbide is rigid but brittle under side-load shock. Do not exceed the cutting parameters recommended for the workpiece material and tool diameter.
