The OSG 4561008 is a corner chamfer end mill designed for precision chamfering and edge-breaking operations on a wide range of metal workpieces. Built from cobalt high-speed steel and finished with a TiCN (Titanium Carbonitride) coating, it delivers improved wear resistance and extended tool life compared to uncoated HSS tooling. The 1-inch cutting diameter and 1-inch length of cut (LOC) make it well suited to medium-duty milling applications. Five flutes provide a fine pitch configuration that supports smooth surface finishes and efficient chip evacuation. With a 30-degree helix angle and center-cutting geometry, this end mill can be used for plunge entry as well as standard peripheral and face milling passes. It is a right-hand cut, right-hand flute tool compatible with conventional vertical and horizontal milling setups.
This corner chamfer end mill is intended for use on machining centers, knee mills, and CNC milling machines in job shop, toolroom, and production environments. It is suited for chamfering, edge preparation, and light contouring work in steel, stainless, cast iron, and similar ferrous materials where TiCN coating provides a performance advantage. The 1-inch shank diameter fits standard R8, CAT, BT, and HSK toolholders with a 1-inch bore. Overall length is 3.5 inches, keeping the tool compact for rigid setups with minimal overhang. Machinists, toolroom technicians, and CNC operators are the typical end users.
Designed as an OEM-style corner chamfer end mill for use in standard 1-inch bore milling toolholders on vertical and horizontal machining centers and manual mills.
Installation is performed by qualified machinists or CNC operators. Power down and lock out the machine spindle before changing tooling. Seat the shank fully into the toolholder and torque the drawbar or retention knob according to the machine manufacturer specifications. Verify runout with a dial indicator before commencing cuts, and confirm cutting parameters — speed, feed, and depth of cut — are appropriate for the workpiece material and setup rigidity.
