The OSG 4560308 is a corner chamfer end mill designed for precision chamfering and edge-breaking operations on ferrous and non-ferrous workpieces. Built from cobalt high-speed steel and finished with a TiCN (Titanium Carbonitride) coating, this tool delivers improved wear resistance and elevated cutting performance at higher surface speeds compared to uncoated HSS tooling. It features a 0.5 inch cutting diameter, 3 inch length of cut (LOC), and a 5 inch overall length (OAL). The 30-degree helix angle and four-flute configuration promote efficient chip evacuation and a fine-pitch geometry suited to controlled finishing passes. Machinists and tool-and-die professionals in job shops and production environments are the primary installers and operators of this tool.
This corner chamfer end mill is suited for chamfering, deburring, and edge preparation on machined components. The fine pitch designation makes it appropriate for applications where surface finish quality and dimensional control are critical. A right-hand cutting direction and right-hand flute direction are standard for conventional milling setups. The 0.5 inch shank diameter fits directly into standard ER collet chucks, end mill holders, and shrink-fit tooling systems. It is applicable across CNC machining centers and manual knee mills where chamfer uniformity is required.
Designed as a direct-fit replacement or standard tooling selection for CNC machining centers and manual milling machines accepting 0.5 inch shank end mills via ER collet, set-screw holder, or shrink-fit toolholding systems.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist familiar with end mill toolholding and safe machine operation. Ensure the spindle is fully stopped and the machine is in an e-stop or powered-off state before loading or unloading the tool. Verify the shank is seated to the full recommended insertion depth in the holder and that the holder is torqued to the tooling manufacturer's specification before cutting. Inspect the TiCN coating and cutting edges for chips or damage before each use, as a compromised edge will affect surface finish and dimensional accuracy.
