The OSG 455-1251 is a solid carbide square end mill designed for precise milling operations in metalworking and machining applications. This 5-flute, single-end tool features a 1/8 inch cutting diameter and a 45-degree helix angle, which promotes efficient chip evacuation and smooth cutting action. Built from micrograin solid carbide, it delivers consistent performance in demanding cutting conditions. The tool is centercutting, allowing plunge entry directly into the workpiece. It is uncoated and runs a right-hand cut with right-hand spiral flutes. Machinists and tool-and-die professionals working with CNC mills and manual knee mills use this tool for slotting, profiling, and contouring operations.
This end mill is suited for precision machining in job shop, production, and tool room environments. Its compact 1/8 inch diameter and 1/4 inch length of cut make it well matched for fine detail work, narrow slots, and small-feature profiling in ferrous and non-ferrous materials. The 1-1/2 inch overall length provides adequate reach without sacrificing rigidity. It fits standard 1/8 inch collets and tool holders used on vertical machining centers and CNC routers. The Series 455C designation identifies it within OSGs established line of solid carbide square end mills.
Designed as an OEM-style solid carbide square end mill within the OSG Series 455C product line. Fits any tool holder or collet accepting a 1/8 inch shank diameter.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist familiar with CNC or manual milling operations. Ensure the spindle is fully stopped and the machine is powered down before changing tooling. Seat the shank fully in the collet and torque the collet nut to the tool holder manufacturers specification. Verify runout with a dial indicator before commencing a cut, particularly at this small diameter where deflection can affect tool life and dimensional accuracy.
