The OSG 454-3750 is a solid carbide square end mill designed for precision material removal in demanding machining environments. Part of OSG's Series 454, this tool features a 0.375-inch cutting diameter, a 1-inch length of cut, and a 4-flute spiral configuration with a 30-degree helix angle. The right-hand cut and right-hand flute geometry promote efficient chip evacuation and stable cutting performance. Manufactured from micrograin solid carbide, it delivers the hardness and wear resistance needed for consistent results in production or job-shop settings. This is a single-end, bright/uncoated tool with centercutting capability, making it suitable for plunge and peripheral milling operations.
The 454-3750 is suited for use in steel, stainless steel, cast iron, aluminum, non-ferrous materials, and hardened materials. Its regular-length profile and 0.375-inch shank diameter make it compatible with standard collet chucks and end mill holders found on vertical machining centers, CNC mills, and manual knee mills. The uncoated bright finish makes it easy to inspect for wear during the tool life cycle. Machinists working across ISO material groups P, M, K, N, and H will find this end mill applicable to a broad range of workpiece materials.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or direct-use solid carbide end mill for machining applications involving steel, stainless steel, cast iron, aluminum and non-ferrous materials, and hardened materials across ISO material groups P, M, K, N, and H.
Installation is performed by qualified machinists or CNC setup technicians. Power down and de-energize the machine spindle before inserting or removing the tool from the holder. Ensure the shank is fully seated and the collet or set-screw holder is properly torqued per the toolholder manufacturer's specifications. Verify runout with a dial indicator before beginning a production run to maximize tool life and surface finish quality.
