The OSG 454-1875 is a solid carbide square end mill designed for precision milling operations in metal, composites, and hard materials. Part of the OSG Series 454, it features a 3/16 inch (0.1875 inch) cutting diameter and a 4-flute spiral design with a 30-degree helix angle. The right-hand cut and right-hand flute geometry promote efficient chip evacuation and stable tool engagement. With an overall length of 2 inches and a length of cut of 0.625 inches, this end mill suits finish milling, slotting, and contouring work in CNC machining centers and manual mills. It is centercutting and carries a bright, uncoated finish on a micrograin carbide substrate.
This end mill is suited for use in job shops, production machining environments, and tool rooms where tight tolerances and consistent surface finish are required. The 3/16 inch shank diameter matches the cutting diameter, making it compatible with standard collet systems. The regular length designation and compact 2 inch OAL make it well-suited for applications where tool rigidity is a priority and extended reach is not required. Machinists and CNC operators working in aerospace, mold and die, and general metalworking applications will find this geometry appropriate for moderate-depth slotting and profile milling passes.
Designed as an OEM-style solid carbide square end mill for use in standard 3/16 inch collet chucks and end mill holders on CNC machining centers and manual milling machines.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC operator familiar with proper tool-holding procedures. Ensure the spindle is fully stopped and the machine is in a safe, locked-out state before changing tooling. Seat the shank fully into the collet or end mill holder to the recommended engagement depth before tightening. Verify runout with a dial indicator after installation, as excessive runout will reduce tool life and surface finish quality.
