The OSG 4513900 is a cobalt square end mill engineered for demanding metal-removal applications in production and job-shop environments. With a 1-1/2 inch cutting diameter and 5 inch length of cut, this tool handles deep-pocket milling, slotting, and peripheral cuts that shorter end mills cannot reach. The 1-1/4 inch shank diameter and 7-1/2 inch overall length provide the rigidity needed to resist deflection at extended reach. Six flutes deliver a high chip-load capacity and a fine-pitch configuration, making this end mill well-suited for steels and other ferrous materials where surface finish and tool life matter. The uncoated cobalt substrate is a proven choice when re-sharpening is part of the tooling program.
The OSG 4513900 fits long-reach milling operations on vertical and horizontal machining centers, CNC knee mills, and manual Bridgeport-style machines where clearance is required. The right-hand cut and right-hand flute geometry is the standard orientation for conventional milling setups. Its long length-of-cut classification makes it appropriate for deep-cavity work in mold and die, structural fabrication, and general machining. The fine-pitch flute spacing reduces chatter tendency on lighter-rigidity setups. This tool is installed by machinists and CNC operators working in metalworking and fabrication trades.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement and standard tooling option for CNC machining centers and manual mills accepting a 1-1/4 inch straight shank end mill. OSG Series 450 long-series end mill.
Installation is performed by a qualified machinist or CNC operator. Ensure the spindle is fully stopped and the machine is in an e-stop or locked-out state before changing tooling. Seat the shank fully into a collet or end mill holder rated for the 1-1/4 inch shank diameter and torque the retention hardware per the toolholder manufacturer specifications. Verify runout with a dial indicator before beginning a cut, particularly given the extended overall length.
