The OSG 447102611 is a solid carbide corner radius end mill designed for high-performance material removal in demanding machining applications. Built to Series 4471 specifications, it features a 0.5-inch mill diameter, a 0.030-inch corner radius, and four right-hand spiral flutes with a 45-degree high helix angle. The WXS PVD coating provides enhanced wear resistance and heat dissipation at the cutting edge. This is a single-end, centercutting tool with a straight-cylindrical shank, suited for both roughing and finishing passes. Machinists and tooling specialists working on CNC milling operations will find this tool appropriate for production and job-shop environments alike.
This end mill is engineered for use on steel, stainless steel, cast iron, superalloys, titanium, and hard materials. The extended-reach design, with a 1.5-inch reach length and 0.488-inch neck diameter, allows access to features requiring clearance beyond standard tool geometries. The normal pitch and fixed helix angle make it predictable in toolpath behavior, supporting consistent surface finish across a range of cut depths. It mounts into standard toolholders using its 0.5-inch straight-cylindrical shank with an h6 tolerance, compatible with common collet and end mill holder systems.
Designed for use with standard CNC milling toolholders accepting a 0.5-inch straight-cylindrical shank. Suitable for machining steel, stainless steel, cast iron, superalloys, titanium, and hard materials as defined by material codes P, M, K, S, and H.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or tooling technician. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and the tool release mechanism is engaged before inserting or removing the end mill from the toolholder. Verify shank seating depth and runout with a dial indicator before beginning a cut. Do not exceed the tool manufacturer's recommended feed and speed parameters for the target workpiece material.
