The OSG 447102111 is a solid carbide corner radius end mill engineered for demanding material removal in steel, stainless steel, cast iron, superalloys, titanium, and hard materials. It features a 3/8-inch cutting diameter with a 0.03-inch corner radius that reduces stress concentrations at the tool tip, extending tool life in interrupted cuts and finishing passes. The 4-flute, right-hand helical geometry with a high helix angle promotes efficient chip evacuation while maintaining surface finish quality. A WXS physical vapor deposition (PVD) coating adds hardness and heat resistance, making this tool suitable for both roughing and finishing operations. Licensed machinists and CNC operators use this tool in production and job-shop environments.
This end mill is built for use in vertical and horizontal machining centers and CNC mills where tight tolerances and aggressive feeds are required. It is well suited to applications in aerospace, toolroom, and general metalworking where the workpiece materials include carbon steels, stainless grades, cast iron, superalloys, and hardened materials. The extended reach design and straight-cylindrical shank make it compatible with standard toolholders and collet-style systems. Its single-end, center-cutting configuration supports both plunge entry and peripheral milling strategies.
Designed for use with standard toolholders accepting a 3/8-inch straight-cylindrical shank. Suitable for machining steel, stainless steel, cast iron, superalloys, titanium, and hard materials as noted in OSG Series 4471 application guidelines.
Installation and tool changes should be performed by qualified machinists or CNC operators with the spindle fully stopped and machine in an e-stop or locked-out state. Seat the shank fully into the toolholder and torque the retention mechanism per the toolholder manufacturer specification. Verify runout with a dial indicator before production use. Do not exceed the tool manufacturer recommended speeds and feeds for the workpiece material grade being machined.
