The OSG 447101611 is a solid carbide corner radius end mill designed for high-performance metal removal in demanding machining environments. Built to the Series 4471 standard, it features a 1/4 inch cutting diameter, 0.03 inch corner radius, and four flutes with a high helix spiral geometry. The WXS physical vapor deposition (PVD) coating provides enhanced wear resistance and heat dissipation at the cutting edge. With a 1/4 inch length of cut and 2.5 inch overall length, this single-end tool is suited for both roughing and finishing operations on a variety of ferrous and hard materials. Machinists and toolroom operators rely on it for precision profiling and pocket milling work.
This end mill is engineered for use on steel, stainless steel, cast iron, superalloys, titanium, and hard materials. The extended reach design, with a 3/4 inch reach length and 0.242 inch neck diameter, allows access to deeper features while maintaining rigidity. The straight cylindrical shank mounts directly into standard toolholders. It is a right-hand cut, right-hand flute tool with a normal pitch and no chipbreaker, making it appropriate for conventional CNC milling centers in job shop and production environments.
Designed for use with standard cylindrical-bore toolholders accepting a 1/4 inch straight shank. Shank diameter tolerance is h6. Primary workpiece materials are steel, stainless steel, cast iron, superalloys, titanium, and hard materials per material codes P, M, K, S, and H.
Installation is performed by qualified machinists or toolroom technicians. Ensure the toolholder bore is clean and free of debris before seating the shank. Confirm spindle speed and feed rate parameters are appropriate for the workpiece material and depth of cut before engaging the tool. Do not exceed the rated reach length when programming deep-feature passes, as exceeding neck clearance can cause tool deflection or breakage.
