The OSG 44700111 is a solid carbide corner radius end mill designed for precision milling operations in ferrous and non-ferrous materials. Built on OSG's Series 4470 platform, it features a 1/8 inch cutting diameter with a 1/32 inch corner radius and three right-hand flutes ground from micrograin carbide stock. The WXS coating helps resist heat and wear during high-speed passes. With a 1/4 inch straight cylindrical shank and an overall length of 2.25 inches, this tool fits standard CNC machining center collets and milling machine spindles. The extended reach design and 3/8 inch reach length make it suitable for profiling operations where cutter clearance is limited.
This end mill is intended for use in precision CNC milling applications including profiling, slotting, and contouring in die and mold work, aerospace component machining, and general job shop work. The 0.063 inch length of cut and 0.12 inch neck diameter support work in confined pockets and stepped features. The right-hand cutting direction and straight flute geometry are suited to climb and conventional milling strategies on machining centers. Machinists and CNC operators handling tight-tolerance finish work will find the corner radius geometry useful for reducing stress concentrations in inside corner features.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement and standard fit for CNC machining centers and milling machines accepting a 1/4 inch straight cylindrical shank collet. No specific machine model compatibility was provided by the manufacturer for this SKU.
Installation and tool changes should be performed by a qualified machinist with the spindle fully stopped and the machine in a safe, locked-out state. Seat the shank fully in the collet and torque the collet nut to the machine or toolholder manufacturer's specification before operation. Inspect the cutting edges and corner radius under magnification before use, as carbide tools are brittle and susceptible to edge chipping if dropped or mishandled. Confirm runout with a dial indicator after tool installation to protect both the workpiece tolerance and tool life.
