The OSG 447-0625 is a 4-flute solid carbide square end mill engineered for precise milling in tight-tolerance applications. With a 0.0625 inch (1/16 inch) cutting diameter and a 0.1875 inch (3/16 inch) length of cut, this tool is designed for fine detail work in slots, pockets, and profiling passes. The micrograin carbide substrate provides wear resistance and edge retention at small diameters. The 30-degree helix angle with left-hand flute geometry promotes efficient chip evacuation while the right-hand cutting direction suits standard spindle configurations. Uncoated finish makes this end mill suitable for a range of base materials. A licensed machinist or toolroom operator performs installation and setup.
The 447-0625 fits applications requiring small-diameter milling in production machining, moldmaking, and precision toolroom work. The centercutting design allows plunge entry in addition to peripheral and slot milling, adding flexibility in CNC machining center operations. The 1/8 inch shank diameter fits standard ER and collet toolholding systems common to vertical machining centers and CNC mills. The 1-1/2 inch overall length keeps the tool compact to minimize runout and deflection at this diameter. This tool is suited to both prototype and short-run production work where fine feature geometry is required.
Designed for use in standard 1/8 inch collet or ER-style toolholding on CNC vertical machining centers and manual mills. Part of the OSG Series 447 solid carbide square end mill line.
Installation is performed by a qualified machinist or CNC setup technician. Confirm spindle is fully stopped and locked out before changing tooling. Seat the 1/8 inch shank fully into the collet and torque the collet nut per the toolholder manufacturer specification. At this diameter, minimize overhang and verify runout with a dial indicator before running to reduce tool deflection and breakage risk.
