The OSG 414-625008 is a solid carbide square end mill designed for precision milling operations in ferrous and non-ferrous metals. Measuring 5/8 inches in diameter with a 3/4-inch length of cut and 3-inch overall length, this tool fits directly into standard 5/8-inch collets and tool holders. The micrograin carbide substrate supports the TiCN coating, which increases surface hardness and reduces built-up edge in steel and stainless applications. Four spiral flutes at a 30-degree helix angle balance chip evacuation with cutting stability. This is a single-end, stub-length tool installed by machinists and CNC operators in production and job-shop environments.
The 414-625008 is suited for slot milling, peripheral milling, and plunge cutting in a range of materials. Its centercutting geometry allows direct plunge entry without a pilot hole. The right-hand cut and right-hand flute configuration is the standard orientation for conventional CNC machining centers and manual knee mills. The stub length-of-cut range of 0.7000 to 0.8000 inches makes this tool appropriate for applications where rigidity and minimal overhang are priorities over depth of cut.
Designed as an OEM-specification replacement or direct-purchase solid carbide square end mill for use with standard 5/8-inch collet systems and tool holders on CNC machining centers and manual milling machines.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC operator. Ensure the spindle is fully stopped and the machine is powered down before changing tooling. Seat the shank fully into the collet or tool holder to the minimum recommended engagement depth per the machine manufacturer guidelines, and torque the retention system per tool holder specifications. Inspect the cutting edges for chips or coating damage before use, and confirm runout with a dial indicator when tolerances are critical.
