The OSG 414-1575 is a solid carbide square end mill designed for precision milling operations in metalworking and machining applications. It features a 0.1575 inch (4.00 mm) mill diameter with a 0.315 inch (8.00 mm) length of cut, making it well suited for tight-tolerance slotting, profiling, and plunge-cutting tasks. The four-flute, spiral configuration with a 30-degree helix angle promotes efficient chip evacuation and surface finish quality. Micrograin carbide construction provides wear resistance and rigidity at small diameters. This is a centercutting tool, capable of ramping and plunge entry without a pre-drilled hole.
The 414-1575 fits stub-length milling applications where rigidity is a priority over reach. It is used in CNC machining centers and manual knee mills for ferrous and non-ferrous materials. The right-hand cut and right-hand flute geometry match the standard spindle direction on most milling machines. The 4.00 mm shank diameter matches the mill diameter, allowing use in collet chucks, end mill holders, or hydraulic toolholders with the appropriate bore size. Do not exceed the tool manufacturer's recommended speeds and feeds for the workpiece material and depth of cut being used.
