The OSG 414-0938-BN is a solid carbide ball end mill designed for precision milling in a wide range of materials. With a 0.0938-inch cutting diameter, a 0.1875-inch length of cut, and a 4-flute helical geometry, it handles both roughing and finishing passes in a single tool. The 30-degree helix angle promotes smooth chip evacuation and stable cutting action at small diameters. Built from micrograin solid carbide, this end mill maintains tight tolerances and resists wear during extended runs. It is manufactured to OSG quality standards and suits CNC machining centers where consistent performance at small diameter is required.
This end mill is used in CNC milling applications across job shops, production floors, and toolrooms. The 0.0938-inch diameter and 1.5-inch overall length make it well suited for fine detail work, small-pocket milling, and contour work on tightly toleranced parts. Rated for use on steel, stainless steel, cast iron, non-ferrous metals, superalloys, titanium, and hard materials, it covers a broad range of workpiece materials in a single standard-length tool. The 1/8-inch straight-cylindrical shank fits standard ER and precision collet chucks.
Rated for use on steel, stainless steel, cast iron, non-ferrous metals, superalloys, titanium, and hard materials (ISO material codes P, M, K, N, S, H). Fits any spindle or collet chuck accepting a 1/8-inch straight-cylindrical shank.
Installation is performed by a machinist or toolroom technician on a CNC or manual milling machine. Ensure the spindle is fully stopped and the machine is in a safe state before changing tooling. Seat the shank fully into the collet or tool holder and torque the retention nut to the tool holder specification. Verify runout at the tool tip before cutting, as small-diameter carbide end mills are sensitive to excessive runout and can fracture under combined radial and axial loads.
