The OSG 414-078111 is a solid carbide square end mill designed for precision milling of metals and engineered materials. It carries a 0.0781 inch (5/64 inch) cutting diameter with a 0.1562 inch length of cut and a 0.125 inch shank diameter, making it well suited for tight-tolerance slotting, profiling, and peripheral milling in confined areas. The tool features four flutes ground from micrograin solid carbide stock and is finished with a TiAlN coating for improved heat resistance and tool life at elevated cutting speeds. Overall length is 1.5 inches. This end mill is typically installed by machinists and CNC operators working in job shop, production, or maintenance-repair environments.
The OSG 414-078111 fits standard milling machines, CNC machining centers, and manual mills equipped with collets or end mill holders accepting a 0.125 inch shank. Its small diameter and short length of cut make it appropriate for fine-feature work in steel, stainless, cast iron, aluminum, and similar materials where rigidity and edge sharpness are critical. The 30-degree helix angle and spiral flute geometry support chip evacuation during slotting and side-milling passes. The centercutting capability allows plunge entry into the workpiece.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or direct-use cutting tool for milling applications requiring a 0.125 inch shank, 0.0781 inch diameter, 4-flute solid carbide square end mill in OSG Series 414.
Installation is performed by machinists or CNC operators. Secure the shank fully into a properly sized collet or end mill holder and verify runout before cutting. Ensure the spindle and any workpiece clamping are locked before initiating a cut. Follow the machine tool manufacturer guidelines and applicable shop safety standards for speeds, feeds, and cutting fluid application when using small-diameter carbide tooling.
