The OSG 414-0625 is a solid carbide square end mill designed for precision milling in demanding machining applications. Built from micrograin carbide, this stub-length tool measures 0.0625 inches in diameter with a 0.125-inch length of cut and a 1.5-inch overall length. The four-flute, right-hand spiral geometry with a 30-degree helix angle promotes efficient chip evacuation and stable cutting action at small diameters. The bright uncoated finish makes it suitable for a range of ferrous and non-ferrous materials. Centercutting capability allows for plunge entry. This end mill is intended for use by machinists and tool-and-die professionals working on CNC mills and manual milling machines.
This end mill is well suited for fine detail work, slotting, profiling, and contouring in tight geometries where a small-diameter tool is required. The stub-length configuration provides added rigidity, reducing deflection during light finishing passes or precise feature work. Typical applications include mold and die work, prototype machining, and high-precision part manufacturing in job shop and production environments. The 0.125-inch shank diameter is compatible with standard collet systems used in CNC machining centers and manual mills.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or direct-use solid carbide end mill compatible with standard 0.125-inch collet toolholders on CNC machining centers and manual milling machines.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist following standard toolholding procedures. Ensure the collet and toolholder are clean and free of debris before seating the shank. Confirm runout within acceptable tolerances before initiating a cut, as small-diameter carbide tools are sensitive to excessive runout and can fracture under lateral load. Always verify spindle speed and feed rate are appropriate for the workpiece material and tool diameter before engaging the cut.
