The OSG 414-0625-BN is a solid carbide ball end mill designed for precision milling in a wide range of metalworking applications. With a 0.0625 inch (1/16 inch) mill diameter, 4 flutes, and a 30-degree helix angle, this tool delivers reliable performance in both roughing and finishing operations. The micrograin carbide construction provides the hardness and wear resistance needed for cutting steel, stainless steel, cast iron, non-ferrous metals, superalloys, titanium, and hard materials. A 0.0313 inch nose radius produces the characteristic ball-end profile for contoured and 3D surface work. The bright, uncoated finish suits applications where coating is not required or where re-sharpening is anticipated.
This end mill is suited for CNC machining centers and manual mills where fine detail work on contoured surfaces, slots, or pockets is required. The 1/8 inch length of cut and 1-1/2 inch overall length make it appropriate for shallow-reach operations in tight workpiece geometry. It is a single-end, right-hand cutting tool with a straight cylindrical shank, standard in most collet and end mill holder setups. Machinists and tooling engineers working with small-diameter, close-tolerance features in production or job-shop environments will find this tool suitable for the workpiece materials listed above.
Rated for use on steel, stainless steel, cast iron, non-ferrous metal, superalloys, titanium, and hard materials (ISO material codes P, M, K, N, S, H). Part of the OSG Series 414BN standard carbide end mill lineup.
Installation is performed by machinists or CNC setup technicians using a collet chuck or end mill holder sized for a 1/8 inch straight shank. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and power is locked out before changing tooling. Verify runout at the collet before cutting, as small-diameter end mills are sensitive to tool deflection and misalignment. Do not exceed the 1/8 inch length of cut or engage the shank directly in the cut zone.
