The OSG 414-0312-BN is a solid carbide ball end mill built for precision milling in demanding production environments. With a 0.0313-inch (1/32 inch) mill diameter and a 4-flute helical design, this tool is engineered for both roughing and finishing operations in a single setup. The 30-degree helix angle and micrograin carbide construction provide rigidity and edge retention when cutting ferrous and non-ferrous materials. The bright, uncoated finish suits applications where coating buildup or heat is not a primary concern. Machinists and toolroom professionals reach for this series when tight tolerances and repeatable results are required on small-feature work.
This end mill is suited for use on CNC machining centers and manual mills handling small-diameter, close-tolerance cuts. Compatible workpiece materials include steel, stainless steel, cast iron, non-ferrous metals, superalloys, titanium, and hard materials. The standard-length geometry and straight cylindrical shank make it compatible with collets and end mill holders accepting a 1/8-inch shank. It performs in both roughing and finishing passes without a tool change, reducing cycle time on intricate part geometries.
Designed for use with standard collet chucks and end mill holders accepting a 0.1250-inch straight cylindrical shank. Compatible workpiece materials include steel, stainless steel, cast iron, non-ferrous metals, superalloys, titanium, and hard materials as designated by material codes P, M, K, N, S, and H.
Installation is performed by a machinist or toolroom technician using a properly sized collet or end mill holder. Confirm the spindle and holder are clean and free of debris before seating the shank to full depth. Power down and lock out the machine before changing tooling in accordance with shop safety procedures. Verify runout with a dial indicator after clamping to ensure the small diameter is held within tolerance before beginning the cut.
