The OSG 412-3937 is a solid carbide square end mill designed for precise milling operations in metal cutting and general machining applications. Built to Series 412 specifications, it features a 0.3937 inch cutting diameter, a 0.5512 inch length of cut, and a 30-degree helix angle that promotes smooth chip evacuation and efficient cutting action. The micrograin carbide construction delivers hardness and edge retention well beyond high-speed steel alternatives. With a stub-length profile and matched 0.3937 inch shank diameter, this end mill fits standard collet chucks and tool holders used in CNC machining centers and manual mills. It is installed and used by machinists and toolroom professionals.
This end mill is suited for slotting, profiling, and peripheral milling in ferrous and non-ferrous materials. The stub length designation means a shorter flute zone and greater rigidity, making it a practical choice when minimizing deflection is critical. The right-hand cut, right-hand spiral flute geometry and centercutting capability allow both plunge and lateral entry. Typical applications include precision part production in job shops, tool rooms, and production machining environments.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement for solid carbide square end mills in the OSG Series 412 product line. Compatible with standard collet chucks and end mill holders accepting a 0.3937 inch shank diameter.
Installation is performed by qualified machinists or toolroom technicians. Power down and lock out the machine spindle before mounting or removing the end mill. Ensure the shank is clean and fully seated in the collet or tool holder to the proper grip length before tightening. Inspect the cutting edges for chipping or wear before use and do not exceed the recommended depth of cut for the material being machined.
