The OSG 404-7500-BN is a solid carbide ball end mill designed for precision milling operations across a wide range of metalworking applications. Built on OSG's 404BN series, it features a 3/4-inch cutting diameter, a 1-1/2-inch length of cut, and a four-flute spiral configuration with a 30-degree medium helix angle. The micrograin carbide construction provides hardness and wear resistance suited to both roughing and finishing passes. The bright, uncoated finish makes it a straightforward, cost-effective choice when specialty coatings are not required. Licensed machinists and CNC operators install this tool in machining centers and manual mills.
This end mill is suited for milling steel, stainless steel, cast iron, non-ferrous metals, superalloys, titanium, and hard materials. The single-end, right-hand cutting and right-hand flute direction are standard for conventional and climb milling setups on vertical and horizontal machining centers. The 3/4-inch straight-cylindrical shank fits standard collet chucks and end mill holders of matching bore. Extended reach and coolant-through features are not present on this tool, making it best suited for standard-depth applications where the 1-1/2-inch reach length is sufficient.
Compatible workpiece materials include steel, stainless steel, cast iron, non-ferrous metals, superalloys, titanium, and hard materials, corresponding to ISO material codes P, M, K, N, S, and H. Fits any tool holder with a 3/4-inch straight-cylindrical bore.
Installation is performed by a qualified machinist or CNC operator. The spindle must be at a full stop and the machine locked out before changing tooling. Verify the collet chuck or end mill holder is clean and within runout tolerance before seating the shank. Confirm programmed speeds, feeds, and depth-of-cut are appropriate for the workpiece material before engaging the cut.
