The OSG 404-0591 is a solid carbide square end mill designed for precision milling in demanding machining environments. With a 0.0591 inch (1.50 mm) cutting diameter and a 0.1969 inch (5.00 mm) length of cut, this tool is built for fine detail work and tight-tolerance applications where tool rigidity and edge sharpness are critical. The four-flute geometry provides a good balance of chip clearance and surface finish. Manufactured from micrograin solid carbide, it delivers the hardness and wear resistance required for consistent performance in harder workpiece materials. This is a right-hand cut, right-hand flute tool with a 30-degree helix angle and a centercutting design, making it capable of plunging as well as peripheral milling.
The 404-0591 is suited for small-feature milling operations in tool shops, production machining cells, and precision component manufacturing. Its regular length profile and 3.00 mm shank diameter make it compatible with standard collet chucks and end mill holders used in CNC machining centers and manual mills. The uncoated micrograin carbide construction performs well in non-ferrous metals, plastics, and some ferrous materials where coating is not required or preferred for re-sharpening purposes.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or direct-use solid carbide square end mill for standard collet and end mill holder setups accepting a 3.00 mm shank diameter. Part of the OSG Series 404 product line.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or tooling technician familiar with proper tool holding procedures. Ensure the collet or end mill holder is clean and free of debris before seating the shank to the recommended insertion depth. Verify spindle speed and feed rate parameters are appropriate for the workpiece material and tool diameter before initiating the cut. Do not exceed the tool's rated length of cut or use the tool for interrupted cuts beyond its design envelope.
