The OSG 403-093811 is a solid carbide square end mill designed for precision milling operations in metal cutting and machining environments. Built to Series 403 specifications, this end mill features a 3/32 inch (0.0938 inch) cutting diameter, a 5/16 inch length of cut, and a 1/8 inch shank diameter with an overall length of 1-1/2 inches. The TiAlN coating provides thermal resistance for extended tool life in ferrous and hardened material applications. With 3 flutes and a 30-degree right-hand spiral helix, the tool is engineered for efficient chip evacuation and clean, stable cuts. It is centercutting, enabling plunge milling capability. CNC machinists and tool-and-die professionals select this tool for tight-tolerance work in compact geometries.
This end mill is suited for precision machining in mold making, die work, and general CNC milling where small-diameter tooling is required. The regular-length geometry and 5/16 inch length of cut make it appropriate for shallow-to-medium depth slot milling, profiling, and contouring in ferrous alloys, stainless steel, and hardened steels where a TiAlN finish provides a performance advantage. The right-hand cut and right-hand flute configuration is standard for conventional CNC spindle setups.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement and standard cutting tool for CNC machining centers and manual mills equipped with collets or tool holders accepting a 1/8 inch shank diameter.
Installation is performed by qualified machinists or CNC setup technicians. Ensure the spindle is fully stopped and the machine is powered down before changing tooling. Seat the shank fully into the collet or end mill holder and torque to the tool holder manufacturer specification. Verify runout with a dial indicator before initiating a cut, as excessive runout accelerates wear on small-diameter carbide tools and increases breakage risk.
