The OSG 402-7500-BN is a solid carbide ball end mill designed for precision milling in a wide range of metalworking applications. It features a 0.75-inch diameter cutting head, a 1.5-inch length of cut, and a 4-inch overall length with a matching 0.75-inch straight-cylindrical shank. The 2-flute, right-hand helical design runs at a 30-degree helix angle and is manufactured from micrograin carbide in a bright, uncoated finish. This single-end mill is built to OSG dimensional standards with tight tolerances, making it suitable for both roughing and finishing operations.
This end mill is suited for use in machining centers and manual mills across a broad range of workpiece materials, including steel, stainless steel, cast iron, non-ferrous metals, superalloys, titanium, and hard materials. The ball nose geometry makes it well-suited for contour milling, 3D profiling, and radius-floor pocket work. It fits standard toolholders accepting a 0.75-inch shank. The Series 402BN lineup is positioned as an economical solid carbide option that maintains consistent tolerancing across production runs.
Compatible with workpiece materials including steel, stainless steel, cast iron, non-ferrous metals, superalloys, titanium, and hard materials as designated by material codes P, M, K, N, S, and H. Accepts standard toolholders with a 0.75-inch bore.
Installation and tool changes must be performed by a qualified machinist with the spindle fully stopped and the machine in a locked-out, de-energized state. Ensure the toolholder bore and shank are clean and free of chips or debris before seating the end mill. Confirm runout with a dial indicator before beginning a cut to protect both the tool and the workpiece. Follow the machine manufacturer and tooling guidelines for recommended speeds, feeds, and depth-of-cut for the specific workpiece material.
