The OSG 402-500008 is a solid carbide square end mill designed for precision milling operations in metalworking and machining applications. It features a 0.5 inch cutting diameter, a 1 inch length of cut, and a 3 inch overall length with a 0.5 inch shank diameter. The tool carries a TiCN (titanium carbonitride) coating applied over a micrograin carbide substrate, which improves surface hardness and wear resistance at the cutting edge. With 2 flutes and a 30-degree helix angle, it is suited for a range of slot milling, peripheral milling, and profiling operations. Centercutting geometry allows plunge cutting directly into the workpiece. Licensed machinists and CNC operators are the primary installers of this tooling.
