The OSG 402-3281-BN11 is a solid carbide ball end mill designed for precision milling in ferrous and non-ferrous materials. It features a 21/64-inch (0.3281-inch) cutting diameter with a 7/8-inch length of cut and a TiAlN (titanium aluminum nitride) PVD coating that extends tool life in high-heat applications. The two-flute, right-hand spiral configuration with a 30-degree helix angle supports both roughing and finishing passes. Part of the OSG 402BN series, this tool is built to consistent tolerances and is suited for machining centers and CNC milling setups across production and job shop environments.
This end mill is rated for use in steel, stainless steel, cast iron, aluminum and non-ferrous metals, hardened materials, and high-temperature alloys. The single-end, centercutting design allows plunge entry and is well-suited to slot milling, profiling, and contour work on complex part geometries. The straight cylindrical 3/8-inch shank fits standard collet chucks and end mill holders common in machine shops. Standard-length configuration makes it a general-purpose choice for workpieces that do not require extended reach.
Designed for use in CNC machining centers and manual mills equipped with standard collet chucks or end mill holders accepting a 3/8-inch straight cylindrical shank. Suitable for roughing and finishing applications across the OSG 402BN series tool program.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC tooling technician. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and locked out before changing tooling. Seat the shank fully into the collet or tool holder to the recommended grip depth and torque the retention hardware per the holder manufacturer specification. Verify runout with a dial indicator before beginning the cut, and confirm feeds and speeds are appropriate for the workpiece material and depth of cut.
