The OSG 402-3150 is a solid carbide square end mill designed for precision milling operations in metalworking and machining environments. Built from micrograin carbide, it delivers consistent edge integrity and wear resistance across a range of ferrous and non-ferrous materials. The cutter measures 0.315 inches (8.00 mm) in diameter with a length of cut of 0.8268 inches (21.00 mm) and an overall length of 2.520 inches (64.00 mm). Its 30-degree helix angle and spiral flute geometry promote efficient chip evacuation and smooth cutting action. This is a single-end, uncoated tool suited for general-purpose milling work.
The 402-3150 fits standard milling applications in job shops, production machining, and toolroom environments. Its right-hand cut and right-hand flute configuration are compatible with conventional CNC machining centers and manual knee mills. The centercutting design allows for direct plunge entry as well as conventional peripheral milling. With a 0.315-inch shank diameter matching the cutter diameter, it seats directly in standard collet chucks and end mill holders. Machinists and CNC operators working with aluminum, steel, cast iron, and similar materials will find this tool appropriate for slotting, profiling, and pocketing operations.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement and standard tooling option for 0.315-inch end mill applications in conventional and CNC milling setups using collet chucks or end mill holders sized for 8.00 mm shank diameter tooling.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC operator with the spindle fully stopped and the machine in a locked-out state before tool changes. Seat the shank fully into the collet or end mill holder and torque the retention mechanism to the machine or toolholder manufacturer specification. Inspect the cutting edges for chipping or wear before each use. Follow applicable shop safety procedures and machine guarding requirements during operation.
