The OSG 402-1575 is a solid carbide square end mill designed for precision milling operations in metalworking and machining environments. With a 0.1575 inch cutting diameter and a 0.5512 inch length of cut, this two-flute tool is built for small-bore slotting, profiling, and peripheral milling. The micrograin carbide construction provides hardness and wear resistance suited for demanding materials. The 30-degree helix angle promotes efficient chip evacuation and smooth cutting action. This end mill is intended for use by machinists and toolroom technicians operating CNC machining centers and conventional milling machines.
The 402-1575 fits applications where small-diameter, high-precision cutting is required. The right-hand cut with right-hand spiral fluting is standard for the majority of CNC and manual milling setups. Its centercutting geometry allows plunge entry directly into the workpiece, eliminating the need for a pre-drilled pilot hole in many operations. The regular-length body and 4.00 mm shank diameter make it compatible with standard collet systems. It is well suited for die and mold work, fixture machining, and detail work in production or toolroom environments.
Designed for use in standard 4.00 mm collet systems on CNC machining centers and manual milling machines requiring a small-diameter square end mill in the 0.1575 inch size range.
Installation and tool changes should be performed by a qualified machinist with the machine spindle fully stopped and the control in an e-stop or locked-out state. Ensure the collet and collet nut are clean and free of debris before seating the shank to the recommended insertion depth. Verify runout with a dial indicator after clamping to minimize tool deflection and premature wear. Follow the tool manufacturer and machine builder guidelines for speed and feed selection based on workpiece material.
